Doctor Who officially confirmed to return Spring 2017! Fans can expect their favourite show and Doctor duo of Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie back in action on April 15^th, 2017 for Series 10 Doctor Who.  Check out the trailer for this much awaited season:

This is likely to be Peter Capaldi’s final season as the Doctor with his announcement that he plans to leave the show at the end of 2017.  The actor claims that he will be in the 2017 Christmas special, but will be off the show for the next season.  Capaldi played the 12^th Doctor and has been on the show since his debut in 2013.

Rumoured to replace Capaldi as the Doctor is Tilda Swinton – she would be the first ever female Doctor on the show!  However, the spot is still up for grabs with Kris Marshall, Olivia Colman, and Maxine Pearke in the running, as well.  It seems like the idea of having a female Doctor is looking more and more likely and attractive to producers and fans.
